Eislektronic is a one-person repair business in Clervaux. When you get in touch, you're talking to the person doing the work — and that same person is the one who turns up at your door.

How this started

I spent ten months volunteering as IT support at Digital Inclusion Luxembourg, where the job was taking devices people had written off and getting them working again — over 100 of them, at a 98% first-time fix rate. Alongside that I earned the Cisco CCNAv7 certification and completed the CompTIA A+ training programme.

What stuck with me from that work wasn't the technical side. It was how many perfectly repairable machines get replaced simply because nobody local looked at them properly. Eislektronic exists to be that person for northern Luxembourg — and to make it easy, by coming to you rather than expecting you to drive south and wait.

Why repair first

A five-year-old laptop with a failing drive isn't at the end of its life — it needs a drive. Most of what gets thrown away needs one part, a clean install, or a proper cleaning. Repairing it costs you less, keeps your files and setup intact, and avoids the considerable resources that go into manufacturing a replacement.

That doesn't mean pretending every machine is worth saving. When repair costs approach the price of a better replacement, you'll hear that, with the numbers — the point is that it's an honest assessment rather than a default.

Background

Before IT, I spent thirteen years in high-volume kitchens in London, latterly as a junior sous chef — coordinating large teams under real time pressure, where things break mid-service and you fix them without drama. It turns out that's not a bad training for support work.

These days I also drive the Bummelbus around the Éislek, which means I know these villages and the roads between them well. Coming to your door isn't an inconvenience I'm tolerating — it's the part of the job that made sense from the start.

I'm originally from Brazil and have been in Luxembourg for several years. I work in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
